“I don’t see myself as a hero. It’s important for people to respect them and not despise their work,” said the commander of the platoon of the “Donbas” battalion of the 18th Slovyansk brigade, young lieutenant Oleksandr Rogovsky.
Oleksandr and his brother went to seize the country on the fierce 24th. The boys went from soldier to platoon commander and will continue to serve in the Defense Forces after Victory.
Oleksandr recently revoked the Order of the Golden Star and the title of Hero of Ukraine from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Despite his military merits and the respect of his brothers-in-arms, Oleksandr does not consider himself a hero.
