The 18th Sloviansk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine is a symbol of resilience, dedication and heroism. After numerous transformations, the unit, formed in 1992, joined the National Guard of Ukraine in 2014 as the 15th Sloviansk Regiment.
Its soldiers have repeatedly proved their unbreakable character in the counterterrorist operation in the East of Ukraine, participating in heavy offensive and defensive operations in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In 2019, the 15th Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine was awarded the honorary name “Slovyansk” by the decree of the President of Ukraine.
In 2022, by the decree of the President of Ukraine, the regiment was awarded the honorary award “For Courage and Bravery” to honor the heroism displayed in the defense of state sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
In 2023, a new page in the regiment’s combat history began: The 15th Sloviansk Regiment was reorganized into the 18th Sloviansk Brigade. Today, under the leadership of an experienced command and implementing modern standards and approaches, the soldiers defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.
